I can't stand a disorganized email inbox so today I decided to try and tackle the 72 pages worth of emails in my inbox.  There's really no point since I've created a new email address with my married name which I plan to start using, but it gets under my skin that my inbox is that messy.  I especially can't stand how there are 28 unread emails. 

I've been at it now for almost an hour and only managed to clear out 7 pages.  I'm giving up for today b/c this task is taking waay too long.  I'm beginning to think it's just not possible to go through them all and have 0 emails in my inbox.

Information overload is never a good thing.

I can eat pizza everyday b/c I love it that much!  This morning I decided to make my own pizza, the way my dad taught me when I was younger.

What you'll need:

> Pita bread
> Shredded cheese
> Spaghetti sauce
> Pepperoni
> Onions
> Olives
> Crushed chili peppers

How to prepare:

1. Spread spaghetti sauce on pita
2. Sprinkle crushed chili pepper
3. Add cheese
4. Add onions
5. Add olives
6. Add pepperoni
7. Add more cheese on top
8. Add more crushed chili pepper
9. Put into convectional oven on 325F for 6 mins or until cheese melts
10. ENJOY!

I love how the leaves change colours in autumn and fall off the trees to the ground.  Apparently so does someone else who just cannot resist dragging her tiny body through a pile of leaves when out on walks!

Steve and I recently combined our Shoppers points and had $150 to redeem.  I was contemplating whether I should purchase a Nintendo DS or the Nintendo Wii.  I did a bit of research online and decided to buy the Wii b/c I wanted to try out the Wii Fit Plus.  We bought the Wii three weeks ago when Shoppers was having a promo where if you have 75,000 points (which we did) you can redeem $200 instead of the regular $150.  In the end we purchased the Wii for $116 (tax included) which is a total steal.

We went home so Steve could hook it up and I created my Mii profile.  I did the body test where you stand on the balance board and some calculations were made.  I learned that my balance was mediocre, my BMI was borderline normal/underweight, and my Wii fit age was............ 43!  Gawd damn I was floored.  Am I really that out of shape?  I vowed to get into shape ASAP.

I was then prompted to create a goal to gain 2kg in a span of one month and put together a workout plan.  The whole process took about 20-30 minutes and then I finally started the training.  The next day I followed the same workout plan and redid the body test.  My BMI improved a little, but I was now underweight, and my Wii fit age was..... 30!  So awesome since that's way closer to my real age!

Today, which is 14 days after my second attempt at the Wii workout, I turned on the Wii and played some of the other games instead of following the workout plan.  I tried: Perfect 10, Island Cycling, Rhythm Kung-Fu (so much fun!), Segway Circuit, Rhythm Parade (totally rocked this!), Boxing, and Basic Run Plus.  I also did some Yoga and strength training. 

In total I spent 40 minutes working out and I felt good.  I was anxious to try the body test again, unfortunately the results were not that impressive.  BMI is better than last time.

With Steve gone up north to close the cottage for the winter, it was just me and Belle this weekend.  Since the passing of my Grandmother in September, it's reminded me just how short and precious life is and lately I've found that I don't spend enough time with my parents.  So Steve packed a travel bag for Belle while I packed my own overnight bag and we drove to my parents' house for a weekend sleepover.

I arrived there just in time for a curry and roti lunch on Saturday afternoon (gawd I love roti!).  My sister and bro-in-law also stopped by for lunch and the five of us sat at the kitchen table talking until almost dinnertime.  Then they left since they had another family function to attend but had planned to come back later to pick up their dog. 

In the meantime my mom, dad, and I sat in the family room watching one of my cousin's wedding video.  It was fun to just hang out with my parents and talk about who was who in the video.  For a second there, I felt all my adult responsibilities melt away and I felt safe like I did as a kid with my parents there to support and protect me.

After a quick dinner, my sister and bro-in-law came back and announced that they were going to sleep over too.  Okay this felt so nostalgic except this time, as my mom put it, my bro-in-law was allowed to sleep in my sister's room instead of the sofa!  It really did feel like old times when I got into my old bed in my room where everything is the exact same way I left it (the calendar is still stuck on July 2008).  I turned on the lamp, pulled out my book, and read until 2am, exactly like I used to when I lived at home.  Luckily it was daylight savings so I got an extra hour of sleep.  The best part about sleeping in my old room was that it was pitch BLACK!  I'm still not used to my bedroom where light peeks in through the blinds at all hours of the night/morning.

The next morning at 7:30am my dad stuck his head in my bedroom to tell me it was morning and time to wake up.  He then proceeded downstairs to make a warm, hearty breakfast.  Again... this was a normal occurrence on the weekends.  It was so nice to go downstairs and have all this food waiting for me on the kitchen table!  I really can't complain though since now it's Steve who makes my breakfast =)  After breakfast we said our goodbyes and headed home to start the rest of our weekends. 

It was so nice to just be home with my parents again.  And it's wonderful knowing that that home and our parents will always be there for us.

I love spicy food and cannot eat a meal without hot sauce. Last week Steve took the seeds of some fresh chili we had in the fridge and planted them. I was so excited this morning when I found tiny leaves starting to sprout. It won't be long now before I can make some homemade hot sauce!

I first saw the idea of turning a bulletin board into a pretty piece of art on a TV show on HGTV.  I loved the idea but never tried it because I didn't have a bulletin board in my room at my parents' house.  When my sister moved out and was setting up her office in her new condo, she had two huge bulletin boards that she wrapped in fabric, ribbon, and buttons and the results were gorgeous boards that are also very functional.

It's a very simple project to do.  All you need is a bulletin board, very soft batting, pretty fabric, ribbon, buttons, sewing pins, scissors, pliers, and a stapler.  Do not use the foam cushion seen in my first picture below.  I used it in my first attempt at making the board and it was way too thick and hard.  I didn't take a picture because it was a huge eyesore!

To start the project, first cut the batting and fabric to fit the board.  Lay the fabric face down on a table, center the batting in the middle, then place the board on top of the batting.  Pull the fabric tight against the board and staple down.  Once all four sides are stapled, flip the board over and position the ribbon and the buttons.  Take the sewing pins, stick through the button holes and push all the way down until you get through to the other side of the board.  Take small pliers and fold the pins under so the buttons don't come loose.  When all buttons are in place, flip the board over and staple the excess ribbon.

And voila... you now have yourself a pretty bulletin board which is perfect for hanging in your home office.
